Today was a failure because I did not finish the jogging day from the app I was using. I am so self conscious it's not even funny (especially about my weight since one day I was pumping gas and some douchebag driving by yelled out his window calling me a pig and oinking at me). The park was full of people, plus with how long the jog/walk combo is, I had to do 2 rounds around the park, so when I got back around to the sidewalk beside cars, I paused the app so I didn't have to jog in front of them. So I did the 2 rounds and went home.
BUT
Today was a success because my neighbor, M, told me she always walks on the bike path (which I would totally prefer) so I asked how far it is and it's about the same distance as the park. I thought it was further so I had never even tried.
Plus, today was a success because the intervals I did from the app were 60 seconds jog, 90 seconds walk, and on Monday this week, 60 seconds of jogging made me want to give up. I was struggling to do it. Today, it was easy.
So, should I consider today a success or a failure? hmmm...

May 24, 2012-starting over part 2
So, my first jogging day was supposed to be an easy one. Only 2 minutes of jogging, that's nothing. I knew it would be hard because I'm so out of shape, but I had no clue how out of shape I am. It's like 5 minutes of walking just to get to the park, and another 5 to get to where nobody can see me. I started jogging, and after a few seconds I was like, Why am I doing this again? I only made it one minute before I couldn't go any further. My legs were hurting because I don't stand on them like I used to (between the hockey games and working at Wendy's, I USED to be on my feet all the time), and I was so out of breath. I've never had any stamina, but I didn't realize how bad I was. I wanted to just give up, but I still had to walk home, so I didn't sit. I was able to keep walking and after a minute or two, I was feeling fine again. I figured the day was ruined with my attempt at jogging, but I wanted to do another one minute jog just so I had the 2 minutes done, even if it wasn't all at once. That time it was much easier.
I started to head home, but I looked at Terry and he loves being out at the park, so I didn't want to rush him home and I don't want to be a bad example for him. I decided to do another round and try again. By the time I tried again though, I was too wore out. I only made it 30 seconds before I had to find a bench to finally take a break. I spent some time with Terry, drank some water and took it easy. After a few minutes, I got up and tried again and I DID IT!!! I was so proud of myself. I know it was nothing, especially compared to what my sister does, but I was still so happy I made it.
The next day was a day off, so the day after that I did the next thing on the list, which was the same as the first day, and I did it first try! It was hard still, but I'm doing it. I think I may try the app that my sister Shorty recommended though. Tomorrow is a workout day so I'll see if I like it tomorrow. Since I know I can do one minute at a time easy, maybe the jog, walk, jog walk, etc thing will be fine. Well, bye for now.

May 23, 2012-Let's Start Over
Well, I haven't blogged in a long time. A lot has changed in my life and I'm not sure what I wanna start posting on here now. I don't want it to just turn into a place where I talk about Terry non-stop, because it's not HIS blog. But he IS a huge part of my life.
I've lost weight and gained it back, and I look at pictures of me and Terry, and I can't stand it. I HAVE to do something about it. I decided to start jogging. I started by taking walks around Vander Veer, learning the paths and stuff (I'd never walked around there before). Then I started a couch to 5k training program. My sister, Shorty recommended one to me, but looking at it, it had 5 minute warmup, then 60 second jog, 90 second walk, 60 second jog, 90 second walk, and it looked a lot of work just to start out. I've NEVER ran in my life. Like, even when we were supposed to do the mile in school, I speed walked it. I had found a different couch to 5k program on pinterest a few weeks before Shorty recommended that one, and I thought it looked easier to start so I figured I'd start with it for a little bit, then switch to the app Shorty told me about. The one I attempted was just 5 minute walk, 2 minute jog, 5 minute walk and you're done. Well, I'm doing rounds in Vander Veer, so there's a lot more than 5 minute walk at the beginning and 5 minute walk at the end, but I figured it was better, because I want to push myself to do as much as I can.
And now this post is long and boring so I'll wait til tomorrow to talk about my first jogging day.
