Tonight, the Quad City Flames won the game 6 to 1 against the Grand Rapids Griffins. (That's Tommy Galvin's team!! Too bad we won't see them again. :o( And, no, he didn't get a goal tonight.)
So, you're probably imagining me jumping in the air, screaming, cuz they were two AWESOME games, right?
Well, you're absolutely, 100% wrong. You see, I got sick of all these damn superstitions that I had. I mean, what do the socks I'm wearing have to do with the team actually winning a game, right? And that's one of the more normal superstitions I had. So I stopped them all. Occasionally, I find myself doing one, but it's not very often, and I make it a point not to do it after that.
So, Friday night, after I got home from the game ( and the jersey auction afterwards) I was thinking about how great a night it was. I mean, even Carsen Germyn got a hat trick that night. I was wondering what it was that had turned the team around. I was taking off my boots as I was reflecting on the night, and that's when I noticed it.
That's right. I was wearing my 'Lucky Duck' socks. These were my lucky socks a few years back for the Mallards (or maybe even last year...I started getting a new pair every year, and I lost track of which ones are from when. lol).I ended up deciding to wear the socks (without washing them, of course) to tonight's game. I figured I could prove the superstition wrong. And what do you know, the Quad City Flames kicked ass again.
Great. So now I can't wash these socks, and I've gotta wear them a 3rd time. And the next game isn't for another 2 1/2 weeks.
